Its a sad day for people that are Priest Holmes fans. Priest Holmes came back only briefly to play for the Kansas citey chiefs and then was unable to. Priest Holmes announced his retirement at the Arrowhead stadium in Kansas City earlier today. Priest Holmes will be missed greatly by all his fans and those who have respected him for his years of playing the game.

Priest Holmes interestingly retired exactly one month from the point way back when he started his career with his major debut playing against the Oakland Raiders. Priest Holmes had a few words for family and fans when he said, “I have truly been blessed with the opportunity to play in the National Football League.” Blessed to play priest Holmes has been.

The Kansas City Chiefs organization will remember Priest Holmes as an aspiring star who wanted to succeed and get somewhere in the NFL which he did. Many will respect Priest Holmes as he goes down as a Kansas City Chiefs star for a long time. It’s just a shame he had to go out like this with so many injuries and beatings, but nonetheless a happy man.

It wasn’t possible for Priest Holmes to return with multiple neck and head injuries which kept him sitting on the sideline for over two years. I guess Priest Holmes has just come down to the end of his playing career as a Chief, and now he gets to really enjoy some family time.

Priest Holmes has had some great accomplishments in his NFL history like, being a three-time Pro Bowl running back. As well as rushing for a total of 120 yards on 39 carries. That is some pretty serious game right there. And lets talk about touchdowns. From Priest Holmes 2002 to 2004 seasons he built up a total of 66 total touchdowns which is an NFL record for a span of three years which no one has done. truly a great player that will be missed.

Jim Ringo passed away Monday morning, at the age of 75 years. Jim Ringo played for the Philadelphia Eagles as well as the Green Bay packers and was a darn good player at that. He died only 2 days before he was to turn 76 years of age. Many will miss Jim Ringo and many will remember him in future times.

A former teammate had shed some light on some of the issues that Jim Ringo was dealing with. The Former Packers teammate Willie Davis said that Jim Ringo had been battling against Alzheimer’s now for a while.

Willie Davis had more to say about Jim Ringo when he said, “One minute, you’re reliving an experience and the next minute, he’d be asking, ‘Who’s this?”

Willie Davis was inducted in to the hall of fame back in 1981 with Jim Ringo and really knows what its like to see what you have accomplished years later. He too is aging and realizes that life is short and sports is just a piece of the puzzle.

Jim Ringo played football when the toughness of a man was truly tested. Jim Ringo was drafted to the Packers out of Syracuse in the seventh round in 1953, and he turned out to be one of the league’s best centers ever, even though he was an undersized player weighing a mere 200 pounds. A small guy with a lot of heart for the position he played.

Even Vince Lombardi recognized Jim Ringo to be one of the most impacting players of his day, literally. Jim Ringo used his small size to his advantage and this is what made the Packers so powerful.

Jim Ringo will be missed by many. Our hearts go out to the family of the infamous Jim Ringo.

Michael Vick surrenders today to US Marshals today and will remain in jail until his sentencing takes place. There are other reasons for Michael Vick surrenders as well. Michael Vick is now only realizing he has no good shot at getting out of this one now so he surrenders. This guy is a real joke. I don’t like him no matter what he may say.

Michael Vick surrendering also proves several things. He is a real liar. He was told by his attorney to say one thing and he is paying the price cause it didn’t work for him. For Michael Vicks charges on dog fighting he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.

Does he deserve it? If you hurt animals and then testify before the legal system and lie out your teeth, then sure why not. Maybe this young kid will learn something for his stupid actions and realize that he needs to think before he acts. Also he may learn that your friends that were with you will desert you in hard times when you don’t chose the right ones. We will just have to wait and see how the Michael Vick sentencing follows through.

I think a lot of people may be wondering if Michael Vick will be playing football again? Its possible but it won’t be soon thats for sure. But right now he has to be a man and own up to is bad things he has done. Where is he being held right now you may be asking.

Michael Vick is being held at the Northern Neck Jail in Warsaw until the time is up for his sentencing. This mixed prison holds about 400 inmates. Looks like Michael Vick is getting used to the new life he will be calling home. If he gets out of this one then you know its just a poor judicial system we have that caters to famous people and sports stars.

The highest scoring NFL game was back when the the Redskins defeated the Giants 72-41 on November 27, 1966. The numbers for a game of this magnitude add up to some huge numbers. The highest scoring NFL game that people also consider of significance is the Dec. 8, 1940 Chicago Bears beat the Washington Redskins 73-0 which is a pretty embarrassing score.

There have been other games in the history of football that have been memorable for high scoring games, but this last one will go down in history as the highest scoring NFL game on the team that was played. The following will show what went on in the highest scoring NFL game ever.

Going back in time to the highest scoring game in the NFL, The 113 total points came from 16 shared touchdowns. Ten of these touchdowns were scored by Washington and the other six were by the Giants as well as a field goal that finished things off late in the game. Tom Kennedy gave the Redskins a chance for an easy practice field goal shot, as if they needed any more points.

One of the most interesting things about the way people played back then is the fact that during the highest scoring NFL game, there were footballs lost to the crowd. These footballs were costly back then. According to a newspaper account, 14 footballs ended up in the stands of fans watching the game.

Thirteen of these lost footballs came on extra point attempted while the other lost ball came from Brig Owens who launched it into the crowd after he returned a fumble 62 yards for a score. When you figure in the cost of $22.50 per football, the cost for the highest scoring NFL game came to $315. Truly a memorable but costly occasion.

If you havent seen this Browns field goal then you don’t even know. The fact that this Browns field goal meant winning or losing a game just makes it that much more crazy. After Phil Dawson kicked the Browns field goal, it had to be reviewed by refs. What is crazy is the fact that this was Phil Dawson’s second longest kick ever in his career.

The first kick from Phil Dawson that is his longest was a 52 yard field goal. This Browns field goal was 51 yards which is still pretty long. He had to give it a lot of Umph to make it, as Phil Dawson leaned forward during the follow through. This field goal at first appeared that it was no good because it hit the side post of the goal and then bounced onto the middle of the goal post. It then bounced forwards and back through the goal and dropped in front of the goal. Everyone had no idea what to think from the Browns field goal which looked so hopeful from Phil Dawson.

The Browns field goal was in fact after reviewing by referees good. the reason they said so is because the ball actually did clear through the goal. The bouncing back after the browns field goal shows that it was in fact a clean field goal that somehow just managed to bounce in that direction off the back of the post.

With such an amazing game and an amazing browns field goal by Phil dawson that will forever be remembered this has got to be one of the most memorable moments in football history. They have this video appear on Youtube already and it is pretty interesting to watch the replay. There were also some other great games today in the week of the NFL, but this browns field goal beats them all.

Bad news for Eagles as Donovan McNabb injury caused him to leave the game on Sunday in the second quarter against Miami with a badly sprained right ankle. Donovan McNabb injury is a shock to many right now. He does not want this to be happening and the Eagles do not want this either nearly a full year after his season had ended previously with a torn knee ligament.

On the last play before the Donovan McNabb injury, he threw the ball away before he was taken down hard from where he had no idea to be able to control his fall. Dolphins cornerback Michael Lehan tackled Donovan McNabb hard and caused the injury. Dont hate him, he was only doing his job.

The Donovan McNabb injury caused him to hobble off the field and was taken to the locker room where they did some immediate X-ray testing. The X-rays came back negative from the Donovan McNabb injury. We only hope He can recover from it soon.

As you may recall in the last Donovan McNabb injury that McNabb was lost for the rest of the season the previous Nov. 19 when he did worse damage than Sunday when he tore the ACL in his right knee in a play against the Tennessee Titans.

If your wondering how the Dolphins QB did it wasn’t much better than McNabb. He drove the Eagles to Miami’s 25 on his first series but then had a pass intercepted by Andre Goodman. It looks like bad games for both quarterbacks. But as for the Donovan McNabb injury, thats a worse off case. The Eagles can only hope that this Donovan McNabb injury is only temporary and not going to cause a long term out of game scenario.

Ernest Graham has been carrying the ball ore than you can imagine. Earnest Graham has had to take over a brunt of the carries for the tampa Bay Bucaneers for the fact that Michael pittman has been out for a while with some serious injury. This leaves Earnest Graham to have to take on a double duty.

Now that Michael Pittman is coming back and will be assisting with ball carrying, that means that Earnest Graham can take a little break. They should be both shouldering the responsibility but also they will be giving more for the Tampa bay Bucaneers to work with since the quarterback will have 2 guys to get it done.

Michael Pittman was out on an ankle injury which was most likely just a sprain, but still nonetheless left his teammate with a huge load to shoulder. Earnest graham has expressed the fact that he is looking forward to the help.

It’s amazing how Earnest Graham wanted to play for the National football league and tried to get in for 3 seasons. He then qualified and got all the play time he has wanted these last 3 weeks.

The last few games Earnest Graham has been averaging about 75 plays per game. In the last win over win over Arizona, you can take a look at the stats and in that game, Earnest Graham not only carried the ball 34 times (for 124 yards), but he also caught two passes, and besides just doing that much Earnest graham also stayed in to pass protect at times, and was out on pass routes other times.

So you can see earnest Graham has been a busy man lately and has proved that he can get it done on the field. He is a great player and no Doubt the Tampa Bay Bucs appreciate all the contributes that earnest graham has added to the team. He should enjoy his game on Sunday where they will be playing the Atlanta Falcons.

Ricky Williams’ suspension was cut short after 18 months Wednesday when Ricky Williams was reinstated by the NFL. Still unclear is whether the Miami Dolphins want him back. Ricky Williams in 2002 lead the league in rushing, who has played in only 12 games since the start of the 2004 season. Ricky Williams spent last season with the Toronto Argonauts and applied for reinstatement Oct. 1.

Ricky Williams was suspended last year after violating the league’s drug policy for the fourth time and tested positive again for marijuana in April, delaying his return through the first half of this season. Ricky Williams remains under contract with the Dolphins.

The league said Ricky Williams is eligible to attend team meetings and practice immediately, but will not be able to play in a game until Miami plays at Pittsburgh on Monday night, Nov. 26. The team will have a roster exemption for up to two weeks if and when Ricky Williams starts practicing.

Ricky Williams rushed for 3,225 yards in the 2002 and 2003 seasons after being traded to the Dolphins from New Orleans. Ricky Williams then retired in 2004, traveling in India and Australia before returning to the Dolphins in 2005, when Ricky Williams ran for 743 yards alternating with rookie Ronnie Brown.

He passed away early Sunday and now the city of San Francisco mourns his death. Dick Nolan was 75 years old when he died. His son is also the coach of the 49ers and had to miss practice on Friday and Saturday to be with family.

Both John York and Denise, who are owners of the 49ers team had their sentiments, saying, “The San Francisco 49ers organization is mourning the loss of one of our legends with the passing of Dick Nolan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nolan family and all those that loved and supported him, ” said Denise and John York, co-owners of the 49ers.

Just to give you a little history of Dick Nolan. He is a native of the city of Pittsburgh. On a sports level he was a proud teammate of the 1953 Maryland’s NCAA- champion football team. In 1999 career NFL games with the Giants, Cardinals, and Cowboys, the defensive back pulled in 99 interceptions.

He also played for the 1956 Giants team that won the championships. He also made it to other championship games in 1959 and 1961. He will be missed, and manyfrom san Francisco will mourn Dick Nolan.

In 1962 he retired from the Cowboys and soon thereafter joined the coaching team. He was a defensive assistant under a former player that he was familiar with, Tom landry and remained there for a good while.

In 1968 Dick Nolan received his own job as a head coach of the 49ers. He then went on to do some special thing for them. He led them to 3 division titles and went on to make coach of the year award in 1970. He will be missed by many.
