Dennis Dixon who is a quarterback for the Oregon Ducks will receive surgery on his His knee. Dennis Dixon was thought to have been ok and was ready to play Thursday night against the Wildcats, but The Ducks Quarterback wasn’t so ready. It looks as if the damage to his anterior cruciate ligament which he incurred during Oregon’s Nov. 3 victory over Arizona State football team is a major problem.

What does this mean for the rest of the year for Dennis Dixon? It means he will be missing the rest of the season as well as missing out on the coveted Heisman trophy which we all know he was a deserving candidate of. Bellotti said of Dennis Dixon that “He’s a little bit despondent, because he obviously wanted to continue to play,” .

Well thats a sad situation for Dennis Dixon. If He won’t be back for the rest of the season how does that look for any pro career chance he may have had? Will Dennis Dixon still get a chance at being an NFL quarterback despite the injuries? We can only wait and hope that Dennis Dixon will recover well.

What is maybe even more disheartening for the Oregon Ducks is the fact that the loss in Thursday night’s game to the unranked Wildcats completely knocked out the Ducks at even being able to be in a national title game where they could have made some history for Oregon.

Dennis Dixon told some reporters “It shows you’ve got to play your heart out, because you never know when you’re going to get that last play,”. And He is partly right. Guys like that who do play their heart out may never get a shot again at something that special in sports. It teaches a valuable lesson from looking at Dennis Dixon. That is the fact that One day you can be a superstar and the next day you may be the average Joe. Its important to never forget who we are are where we came from.
