Manager Jim Leyland had something to say about the trade and this is what he said. “Our scouts really like him and how he fits because he’s a left-handed hitter that can play all three spots in the outfield.”
Jacque Jones who previously played as the center fielder in Chicago in the second half this season. As Jacque Jones joins the Tigers he is expected to make some great things happen and help them cover the outfield position.
The Tigers were not able to get the make the playoffs in 2006, but now with the edition of Jacque Jones, the Tigers have high hopes of making some things happen in the world of baseball, and if Jacque Jones is able to stay healthy in the coming season He should be a serious help to the Tigers making something happen.
Jacque Jones has only played with his previous team the Cubs for one season but managed to rack up some numbers. Jacque Jones hit .285 with five homeruns, as well as accumulating 33 doubles and 66 RBIs over a period of 135 games this past season with the Cubs. This was Jacque Jones 9th season playing in the major leagues, so hes obviously not a new comer to it all.
Jacque Jones had a hard time when he first moved to Chicago and got a lot of boos from fans at Wrigley, but if He can bring some good game from the get go the Tigers fans should be pretty satisfied.
